<br />Water governance has been widely debated in the academic field across Africa. Research indicates that the continent relies heavily on water resources for various activities, with agriculture and mining among the dominant sectors utilising this resource. In this context, this paper analyses the institutional framework within the water governance structures of South Africa and Zimbabwe. The paper argues that while progress has been made in developing new water legislation, the legacy of a skewed water system has led to challenges that both countries face in managing water resources.
